Richard Duke

I am looking for any information on my (11X) grandfather Richard Duke. Born about 1550 in England. His wife was Martha Parker. His son also was Richard Duke (born abt 1570, Otterton,Devonshire, England). I am looking for Richard Duke's father and mother, and any other information.

The earliest parish registers surviving for Otterton are from 1558, so it will be very difficult to locate any further information regarding your family. It's possible that Manorial Records might hold some clues, but probably only if your people were of noble standing - the average peasant didn't merit mention in early documents.
